Since October 2014 - when the FDA approved both Esbriet (Pirfenidone) and Ofev (Nintedanib) - finally there are medications to slow the progression of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Discuss them with your Pulmonologist or Hospital!

When you try to find as much information as you can about pulmonary fibrosis in general or specifically idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), you will find that there is a lot of information on the web. Even in 2020 most is scattered over many different websites but we believe that much of this information is:

too negative - wrongly focused on short life expectancy (old statistics) not written in laymen language primarily for medical professionals not updated for many months or sometimes even years not focused on the patient’s most urgent questions sometimes only used to generate income from advertising or commercial activities We have tried in 2011 to establish a new style of website (a platform without requests for donations or any commercial activities) where we try to focus on your questions and give you a wealth of information. We don't put too much effort in making the website slick and modern looking because simplicity is the most important thing for you right now. Links are links and we didn't beautify them. Info and news (gathered from all over the world) are updated as often as possible. 



All this said, it means that there’s a role for you, patient, family, caregiver friend or professional to inform us on anything you find anywhere (national or international) that we may have overlooked. Please use the contact page to send us anything on news, medications, clinical trials, hospitals, support groups, links, blogs, events, etc. or even to correct spelling errors. Don’t be afraid to criticize the site because we need your input to make this site your best information source.
